Music: Polska in the tradition of Erkgärds-Mats, Grimsåker, Malung

"Dansa Kicki!" is a polska from Malung set for many voices. The lyrics are about a girl who is invited to dance with death, but this song urges her to dance with Life itself.

"The Reaper that you have met in your nightmares longs to dance the last dance with you. Now in your eyes the day is dawning, see how he falls and flees in the the light. Dance Kicki, dance, the day has come, the day is Yours! Dance!"

It has a middle part where an African beat sets in. That part is made for a dance interlude, we have used a male South African dancer and a female Swedish - in traditional costumes - teaching each other their respective traditional dances. It works well as an intimate song, as well as a showpiece on big stages.

There is also a simpler SATB-arrangement of "Dansa Kicki!"
